In April of 1953, the body of a young woman washed up on a remote, private beach outside of Rome. Her shoes, skirt, stockings, and garter belt were missing. She was identified as Wilma Montesi, the 21-year-old daughter of a carpenter who lived with her family in a flat in the city.
