Bill of Rights Part 2: 2nd & 3rd Amendment
Non Violence Sculpture by Carl Fredrik Reuter https://www.childrenshour.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/TCH_Bill-of-Rights-Part2_podcast.mp3 We continue our exploration of the Bill of Rights this week on The Children's Hour with a show about the 2nd and 3rd Amendments with Micah McCoy from the ACLU-NM. We learn many ways the 2nd Amendment is interpreted, and why it's so contentious. Then we discover the reason soldiers can't just move into our houses. Plus we hear from the kids in the Extinction Diaries about the Sixth Great Extinction. We also pay homage to the late, great Rudolfo Anaya. The Children’s Hour is supported by the Cultural Services Department and the Urban Enhancement Trust Fund at the City of Albuquerque, city councilor Pat Davis, as well as Bernalillo County, New Mexico’s Commission. This project is supported in part by an award from New Mexico Arts, a division of the Department of Cultural Affairs, and by the National Endowment for the Arts. We also have support from Electric Playhouse and numerous foundations also support our work including the Infinite Gesture Fund, The Limestone Fund, and The Laughing Buddha Fund. Thank you to our listeners who contribute to us through the Paypal Giving Fund, Paypal, and by subscribing to our podcasts on Patreon. durationtitleartistalbumlabel 03:39RiseIsolde FairRise - Single2020 Isolde Fair 02:20Bill of (Your) RightsRhythm, Rhyme, ResultsSocial Studies Disc 1Educational Rap 04:33Big Guns DownEasy Big FellaSkanarchy III1997 Elevator Music 02:45I Was Born Almost Ten Thousand Years AgoDan ZanesParades and Panoramas - 25 Songs Collected By Carl Sandburg for the American Songbag2004 Sister Barbara Music (ASCAP) 02:48Soldier's JoyLaura VeirsTumble Bee2011 Raven Marching Band 03:53Animals in DangerJohnny and the RaindropsSongs for Little Learners2016 Raindrops Recordings 02:46This Pretty Planet (feat.
