Brooklyn, 1967. En las amplias pero sucias calles de sus barrios comienza a florecer una generación de músicos brillantes, todos, salvo unos pocos, son boricuas o hijos de boricuas porque el condado y cada uno de sus barrios se ha convertido en el centro de acogida ideal para los puertorriqueños en busca de trabajo. Es una alternativa más tranquila que los famosos South Bronx e East Harlem, pero con noches problemáticas, muchos clubs nocturnos que aparecen y desaparecen y una serie de pandillas juveniles que controlan el tráfico y la extorsión. Así las cosas, Brooklyn ve nacer para la música a los hermanos Harlow, a los hermanos Maldonado, a los hermanos Lebron y a un chico que acabaría brillando con luz propia, Ralph Robles. Esta es la historia de su primera grabación para el sello Fania, Was Here, en La Hora Faniática.
