Since the use of medical marijuana was approved in 1993, Israel has spearheaded research into its diverse applications that include alleviating symptoms of Parkinsons Disease, Crohns, cancer, PTSD, and epilepsy, to name a but a few.

Professor Ruth Gallily, is a professor emerita of immunology at The Hebrew University and was part of the team that isolated the medicinal component of cannabis - cannabinoid (CBD).

Zohar Koren is the CEO of Cannabis Pharmaceuticals, a company that introduced the oral CBD pill as a solution to dosage inconsistencies.

They join host Viva Press to discuss how Israeli Agri-tech and government-sponsored research clinics have enabled Israeli scientist to optimize and expand the use of medical marijuana. They also discuss the red tape and stigmas that they've yet to overcome.
