'Hollywood, The Sequel,' Episode 3, “First Responder Filmmaking” with Kenya Barris
Introducing a new show from LAist Studios, "Hollywood, The Sequel." A limited-run podcast series in which veteran film journalist John Horn asks some of the entertainment industry’s most influential artists and executives how Hollywood could and should reinvent itself.
In episode 3, we speak with Kenya Harris. With his comedy series “Black-ish” and “#blackAF,” Kenya Barris has never avoided difficult conversations about race. Entertainment, especially comedy, he says, will push those conversations forward, but there need to be many more versions of what Black lives and other underrepresented experiences look like.
