Episode 21 - Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

Leandra, Paula, Marianne, Rio, and Gabby, 7th graders at Newport Mill Middle School, are big "Red Queen" fans.

This week, we enter a world divided into two kinds of people: the silver ruling elite and the red underclass. It’s Victoria Aveyard’s RED QUEEN. And it was the choice of a group of 7th graders from Maryland. Writer Victoria Aveyard talks about the difference between writing books and writing screenplays. Our celebrity reader, NPR’s Renee Montagne, brings to life our lightning girl Mare who is decidedly not excited about becoming a princess.
